about me
In 2011, my wife Andrea and I chose to move our family to Kitsap from Fort Worth, Texas. At that time, I served as a Clinical Educator at Harrison Medical Center. I have also served as an adult leader in Boy Scouts, supported community events, participated in the political/civic arena, and am a very active member of the Christian community of Kitsap County. Although in my heart, I will always be a proud Texan, I have made roots and have grown in this community. Andrea and I are happy to call Kitsap home. My son graduated from Olympic High School in 2016, I moved on to other jobs in the medical field, but Andrea and I have remained an active part of this community. You may have even seen me speak at a school board meeting, met me asking for signatures on various initiatives, or shook my hand at various events. The people of Kitsap are warm, friendly, and honest, and many of them are my friends.
Why am I running for CKSD School Board? I value this community, and my experiences with the public school system of Kitsap have not reflected what I have seen of Kitsap. Parental and community concerns are ignored, student and teacher safety has been put at risk, and the school board seems to never hold the superintendent to account. I witnessed the firing of Coach Kennedy, have seen the prioritization of social engineering over education, and have watched our taxes increase while our reading and math scores go the opposite direction.
I believe parents and the community have a voice in the direction of how our schools operate. The public school system has a responsibility to educate, not socially engineer our children. Children and teenagers, as well as educators, have a right to attend school in a harassment-free environment. I believe we can achieve that and I want to be your voice on the Central Kitsap School Board!
